According to the statistics from Chile’s customs, Chile’s volume of goods trade was USD63.17 billion from January to July in 2016, down 12.4% year-on-year (the same below). Exports fell by 13.6% to USD33.55 billion, and imports fell by 11.0% to USD29.62 billion. The trade surplus was USD3.93 billion, down 29.1%.

In July, Chile’s volume of goods trade fell by 23.7% to USD8.63 billion. Exports fell by 33.0% to USD4.14 billion and imports fell by 12.6% to USD4.49 billion. And the trade deficit was USD0.35 billion, down 134.0%.

Since January to July, bilateral trade volume between Chile and China fell by 3.5% to USD16.48 billion. Chile’s exports to China fell by 3.0% to USD9.61 billion. It accounted for 28.7% of Chile’s overall export, up 3.2%. And Chile’s imports from China fell by 4.3% to USD6.87 billion. It accounted for 23.2% of Chile’s overall imports, up 1.6% over the previous year. Chile’s trade surplus with China grew by 0.5% to USD2.75 billion.

China was the largest export market of Chile and its largest source of imports up to July in 2016.
